What Does It Take To Be An Entrepreneur?
I think the reason I’m involved in a bunch of different things is that I find myself needing more – I want to be challenged. I want to wake up in the morning feeling excited. I don’t want to get caught in the rat race of just doing something to do it. Someone I looked up to – whenever they were in the height of something they always channeled it into something else to create new challenges for themselves and I get asked what is the big corporate strategy and does it all come back together? I wanna have a good time, I wanna have fun and I want to do cool stuff. I want to push myself as far as possible and I want to meet people who want to push themselves and push myself with them and get satisfaction watching them win just as much as I would myself. When I find myself in different areas it is because I’m curious and I was never in this to be a music guy, I wasn’t in this to be anything more than I am – an entrepreneur. I think the definition of an entrepreneur is someone who doesn’t do just one type of business. I like to get involved with different things and be impactful and challenge myself. Don’t forget why you started. Don’t forget why you wanted to get out there and do something new in the first place and find ways to be happy. Take a moment each year, stop and say over the last year when was I at my happiest and make sure you not only integrate those moments more, but push for those moments more because there’s no route to success without just plain old hard work and grinding it out. You don’t get to be happy the whole time. Most of the time you’re just working your ass off, but figure out those few moments where working your ass off leads to something before you find yourself just working your ass off with nothing.
