Your Marketing Needs to Start with a Strategy


The first thing to consider in your marketing is strategy. A lot of people say that and a lot of people get that, but it’s amazing how few actually do it. I have the mantra of “strategy before tactics”. So often the plan is “Should I be on Facebook? Should I be on Twitter? What do I do to get to this audience?”. That’s the part that everybody digs into. I will tell you that the very first thing that you need to decide is: Who makes an ideal client or customer for your business in very, very specific terms? and How do you, in contrast to everybody else who says they do what you do, offer something that is truly unique and valuable to that ideal client? You nail that part and then you can go to work on surrounding your strategy with the tactics that will support that.
