The beauty of volunteering your time and energy to those in need is twofold. On one hand, there is the benefit to the person, or persons, receiving your assistance. On the other hand, the rewards for yourself can include satisfaction, self-respect, and empowerment. Volunteering can be an eye-opening experience, one that changes the viewpoint and outlook of everyone involved. Many of our members and friends have interest in specific areas due to events that have occurred in their lives. Many have just felt a need to help. Some have gotten their first taste of volunteering through EDAF events. These are the stories and thoughts of EveryDay Angels who were profoundly affected when they reached out to help others.

In 1999, the Foundation compiled stories submitted for an "everyday acts of kindness" book. These are a few of the stories we received.
