What do human beings need as individuals to survive and thrive?

For most of us, having roofs over our heads, food on the table, and warm clothing on our backs is practically a given. But there are millions of men, women and children who are starving and/or freezing to death right in our own backyards. Every individual deserves access to the most basic of human needs: food, shelter, and warm clothing; especially when you consider how much of it goes to waste everyday. Access to quality healthcare is also a major issue and shortages of donated blood and organs could affect absolutely anyone.

Children are the future of our planet and education is the key to ensuring that it will be a promising one. A better world for the children of tomorrow requires a foundation built on an understanding and acceptance of one another.

Of course, little will matter if we continue destroying the planet that is our home. Thus, the environment, which is in desperate need of help, is also important to the EDAF. Clean water, rain forests, and air quality need to be preserved.

Each of us must take responsibility for our world and realize that we chart the course for the future. Otherwise, we relinquish control of our lives and entrust the future of our children to chance, and the goals and ambitions of others. The great news is that we each individually have this power — we just need exercise it diligently.
