Food, Clothing and Shelter : the Basic Needs

For most of us, having roofs over our heads, food on the table, and warm clothing on our backs is practically a given. But there are literally millions of men, women, and children who are starving and/or freezing to death right in our own towns and communinities. Every individual deserves access to the most basic of human needs: food, shelter, and warm clothing; especially when you consider how much of it goes to waste everyday.

One of the first Foundation projects was partnering with America's Second harvest, a network of over 200 food banks nationwide. Since our first volunteer event, we have worked with Second Harvest affiliates in Los Angeles, Boston, Worcester, MA and Hillside, NJ. We have also participated in events with Rock 'N Wrap It Up on a music concert food collection drive and with Project Bread's "Walk for Hunger."

With the help of generous musician friends of the Foundation, our "Project Warmth" concert series has brought donations of winter clothing and blankets to thousands of people in need of them.
